As part of efforts to strengthen ties between Arab student unions, the International Islamic Federation of Student Organizations (IIFSO) was honored to receive a delegation from the Algerian Student Union in Türkiye at its headquarters in Istanbul. The visit aimed at mutual institutional introduction, exchanging visions on student work, and exploring future areas of cooperation.
Mutual Introduction
During the meeting, Dr. Abdullah Ahmed, Assistant Secretary General of IIFSO, delivered a comprehensive presentation that covered:
•The foundation of IIFSO in 1969 in Aachen, Germany
•The federation’s vision of serving, developing, and empowering Islamic student organizations worldwide
•IIFSO’s structure, which includes over 100 member organizations across more than 60 countries
•The federation’s upcoming programs, including training, conferences, and international advocacy campaigns
On the other side, the Algerian Student Union delegation, led by Mr. Ilyas Chouk, President of the Union, and Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Head of External Relations, introduced:
•The organizational structure and core goals of the union
•Its current student programs and activities
•Its role in representing and developing Algerian students through diverse educational and leadership initiatives
Agreement on Cooperation
Both parties expressed a sincere desire to establish an effective partnership, which will include:
•Mutual participation in student and training events
•Exchange of expertise in the fields of education, leadership, and youth development
•Coordinated efforts to support student causes across the Arab region and the broader Islamic world
