Dr Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher is a Bangladeshi politician and former Member of Parliament for the Comilla-12 constituency in seventh parliamentary elections from 2001 to 2006 in Bangladesh. He is a Central Vice President of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and head of International Affairs. Later, he was the president of Bangladesh Islami Chatra Shibir during 1985-86 and 1986–87. He was elected as a Member of Parliament in Bangladesh from 2001 to 2006 and was part of two parliamentary bodies, the Public accounts committee and the Public undertaking committee. Dr. Taher was elected Asia Director of the International Islamic Federation of Student Organizations (IIFSO) from 1988-92. He later served as the elected Secretary General of IIFSO from 1992-1998. Besides being the Secretary General of IIFSO, he was concurrently the Director of WAMY (World Muslim Youth Council) in South Asia.
