Mustafa Tahhan, who was born in 1940 in Kusa town in northern Lebanon, completed his primary and secondary education in Syria.Tahhan graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Chemical Engineering in 1964, and worked in an oil refinery in Kuwait until 1979.Tahhan contributed to the establishment of the International Federation of Islamic Student Organizations (IIFSO) in 1969 and was elected as the General Secretary of the organization in 1980.Tahhan also personally supervised the preparation and translation of IIFSO's Islamic Book Project into more than 70 languages. Tahhan, who is also on the advisory board of Al-Ahbar magazine published in Arabic and English, was also elected as the General Secretary of the International Islamic Youth Symposium in Riyadh. Mustafa Tahan passed away in 25 September 2019 at Istanul Turkey.
